Solutions for common issues with Tree Launcher.

Tree Launcher Isn't My Default Home Screen

If Tree Launcher isn't opening when you press the Home button:

  1. Go to your device's Settings → Apps → Default Apps → Home App
  2. Select Tree Launcher

Some devices may have this option under Settings → Home Screen or similar.

I Can't Find My Apps

All your installed apps are accessible through the apps list:

  1. Open your home page
  2. Navigate to the apps section (typically accessible from the home page or via search)
  3. Use Search in the top toolbar to find specific apps by name

If apps are missing from the apps list, they may need to sync. Go to Settings and the app list should refresh automatically.

My Content Disappeared

If your pages or items seem to have disappeared:

  1. Check the Recycle Bin — Items may have been accidentally deleted. The Recycle Bin keeps items for 30 days. Go to Settings → Recycle Bin to check.
  2. Check for hidden items — Items may be hidden rather than deleted. Enter Edit Mode to see hidden items.
  3. Restore from backup — If you had Google Drive backup enabled, restore from your most recent backup. Go to Settings → Backup → Restore.

Backup Isn't Working

If Google Drive backup or restore fails:

  1. Check your internet connection — Backup requires an active internet connection
  2. Check Google account — Make sure you're signed in with the correct Google account in Settings → Backup
  3. Check Google Drive storage — Ensure you have enough free space in your Google Drive
  4. Re-authorize — Try signing out and back in to refresh the Google Drive connection

Widgets Aren't Displaying

If widgets on Canvas pages or in the Widget Stack aren't showing:

  1. Check the widget's app — Make sure the app that provides the widget is installed and up to date
  2. Re-add the widget — Remove and re-add the widget
  3. Check permissions — Some widgets require specific permissions to function

Notifications Aren't Working

If reminders or notifications aren't appearing:

  1. Go to your device's Settings → Apps → Tree Launcher → Notifications
  2. Make sure notifications are enabled
  3. Check that battery optimization isn't preventing Tree Launcher from running in the background
  4. On some devices, you may need to disable battery optimization for Tree Launcher: Settings → Battery → Battery Optimization → find Tree Launcher → Don't Optimize

The App Is Slow or Laggy

  1. Restart the launcher — Go to Settings → Help → Restart Launcher
  2. Clear cache — In your device's Settings → Apps → Tree Launcher → Storage → Clear Cache
  3. Check for large pages — Pages with many items (100+) may be slower. Consider splitting large pages into nested sub-pages.

I Want to Go Back to My Old Launcher

  1. Go to your device's Settings → Apps → Default Apps → Home App
  2. Select your previous launcher
  3. You can always switch back to Tree Launcher later — your content is preserved
